As transfer rumours go, this one published in Italy’s Corriere dello Sport will take some beating.

The sports newspaper reports that Chelsea have put together a package for Barcelona’s 25-year-old Brazilian international Ronaldinho which will see the Spanish champions receive a staggering £83m of Roman Abramovich’s cash. The player himself will be offered a nine-year contract worth £10 million per year that would effectively tie him to Stamford Bridge for the remainder of his career.
